A little WildCat Designs update
Well, it may seem as though it's been a little quiet lately on the WildCat Designs front. Fear not, dear reader, I have, in actuality, been a busy bee!
The WCD website has had a little facelift for the new year, I'm pleased to announce. See it here: www.wildcat-designs.co.uk.

During January and February, some of my Space Invader creations resided in the Craft Shop at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre as part of their 'Space Craft' exhibition, very exciting for me, even if I unfortunately didn't get the chance to go down and visit. The exhibition also included science fiction-inspired jewellery (such as robot rings), Saturn bowls and futuristic glass.

I have also recently visited one of my stockists, Flux, in Leith, to deliver some stock. They now have some lovely new lacy scarves, just in time for Mother's Day on Sunday 15th March.

There are a few other gift ideas for Mother's Day in my etsy shop, including lace shawls and pretty textile brooches. You'll find them in the new section entitled 'For a Lovely Mum.'

Dolly Mixtures
Intrigued? I was. It's the new thing to do on a Thursday night! Coinciding with late shopping night in town, Dolly Mixtures is a fab alternative to dreary high-street sameness.

Featuring stalls of crafty goodness, clothes swishing, lovely jewellery, yummy cakes, teapot cocktails and live tribute acts, it's definitely worth a visit to Electric Circus on Thursday 4th February, 5pm til late.
Need another reason? WildCat Designs is coming out of hibernation, ready to showcase some brand new designs and will be there in full woolly glory! Hope to see you there :)
Find out more about Electric Circus here. Fabulousness, reasonably-priced drinks, oh, and karaoke booths! It's at 36-39 Market Street, Edinburgh, just by the Fruitmarket Gallery.

A New Year, A Fresh Start
A happy, healthy new year, and best wishes for 2010 to all!

The new year always seems like a natural time for new beginnings. Having had a very busy few months, I ended up feeling quite burnt out and the break around Christmas & Hogmanay was a welcome one. I'm happy to say that I'm now feeling refreshed and have lots of wonderful ideas for this brand new year (including a blog series, so watch this space for news!).

I've also recently made a big decision: to quit my day job. From here on in, it's WildCat Designs all the way! Scary and exciting in equal measures, it's not a decision I have made lightly, but I am feeling positive about the future.
I hope you enjoy my pictures of a wintery Edinburgh!

Merry Christmas!

It's been a busy month, but the big day finally came! A very merry Christmas to you all :) It's been chilled-out day (much needed) spent with family, along with a good haul of pressies, and plenty of seasonal treats.
My first attempt at a trifle (including home-made custard) for the dessert was pretty successful, I'm pleased to report!
